“It is tremendous to see a Scottish company with the talent, skills and expertise to grow in a recession”
ALEX SALMOND
Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond was a VIP guest at HEROtsc’s head office in Falkirk this week.
And in a fact-finding tour round the Central Park site, the SNP leader not only found out how a Scottish company was leading the way to beat the recession, he also got some tips on how to solve some problems with his own TV system at home!
The First Minister visited HEROtsc’s state-of-the-art contact centre as part of the election campaign and was joined by his party’s two local candidates John McNally and Tam Smith.
The VIPs were welcomed and shown round the centre by HEROtsc’s Chief Executive Officer David Turner and spoke to a number of the employees on duty that day.
Alex Salmond even listened in on a potentially difficult customer service call handled by HEROtsc employee David Anderson and was hugely impressed by the professional way the call was handled and the problem resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
HEROtsc’s Falkirk operation is a site completely dedicated to multi-media giants Sky and, in conversation with some of the staff, the First Minister admitted some problems with the TV system in his own house that morning.
Sure enough the HEROtsc staff had the solution to his problem and it is now normal service for TV in the Salmond household.
The Falkirk operation is the biggest of HEROtsc’s seven Scottish sites – with further centres in Yorkshire’s Dearne Valley and Gurgaon in India making the company one of the UK market leaders.
On learning that numbers in Falkirk alone had increased from 300 to 530 in the past year, the First Minister was full of praise for the company ethos and performance levels that has driven this growth.
“It is tremendous to see a Scottish company with the talent, skills and expertise to grow in a recession,” he said.
“I think the work being done at HEROtsc to evaluate and improve all aspects of the customer service experience is hugely important and I am most impressed by their determination to give the highest level of customer satisfaction.”
That praise was echoed by David Turner. The HEROtsc CEO said “The First Minister recognised the importance of the innovative and original solutions we bring to our customers and couldn’t help but be impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of our employees.
“Once again, I was hugely proud of them all.”
